A film made by residents of Herring House Trust, showing our One Cup at a Time Project. This project was designed by residents of Herring House with a mission to provide a bi-weekly brunch to people over the age of 55 from the local community in Great Yarmouth. The people running the group are all in active recovery from substance dependency and they designed the project and have full responsibility for its delivery. They applied for funding from Norfolk Community Foundation and were successful.
The group offers an opportunity to come together to reminisce and chat about, this week in history, sharing memories One Cup at a Time. In offering this service the hope is to help alleviate loneliness, exchange stories and share experience which will help improve the wellbeing of older people in our community and promote learning and self-confidence for all those involved. We hope that by sharing our stories we can break down the stigma of substance dependency and show the valued contribution people in recovery can make to our community.
