The Pathway Project

The Pathway Project offers a hub for people who are new to rough sleeping, in danger of rough sleeping or who have experienced longer-term rough sleeping; we will provide:-

  • An emergency bedroom within the Trust's Hostel facility;
  • Access to all of Herring House Trust's support services;
  • A Pathway Worker who will provide support to people who are unsheltered to find longer-term accommodation;
  • A referral mechanism for the general public who may be concerned about someone sleeping rough;
  • Practical support such as washing and laundry facilities;
  • Drop-in sessions for people who are unsheltered;
  • Support to people in their own tenancy who may be in danger of sleeping rough

Great Yarmouth has seen the number of people sleeping rough rise for the first time in over a decade. There are many people at risk of losing their accommodation and emergency housing within the Town is working to full capacity. Some of the most vulnerable people on our streets are living with enduring and complex issues and we need to ensure that services are in place to support their needs. The Project will offer a link and resource to the many support agencies within the Town who are working with people who are unsheltered.
